From Angers to Paris
Yesterday (Thursday) classes went as usual, and in photography, we are preparing our photographs for the first of three exhibits in Angers. All of the exhibits will include 1 to 2 photos from each photographer in the group. The exhibit will be displaying each person’s photograph of choice, there is no set theme. It should be good exposure.
After class, I did not take too many photos, but of what I did shoot, I captured a really interesting couple in their window. I will update it tomorrow as the picture of the day.
I ended up going out for drinks with all the photographers to Donald’s Pub, and met a really nice French guy named Sebastien. Chatted for a little, he spoke pretty good English. The house beer was very tasty, but a little expensive.
Friday-woke up at 6 a.m., packed two bags, and headed off to Paris with Sarah for the weekend. We arrived in Paris at 10:40 in Montparnasse. We decided against taking the subway in hopes to get a feel of the city. It is a very large city, which we knew coming in, but we underestimated the amount of time it would take to walk to our hotel. After what seemed about 2 hours, we arrived at our hotel. ( I will update with photos of our hotel room tomorrow). On the way to our hotel, we passed a few sights - Eiffel Tower, Palace de Luxembourg, and the Arc de Triomphe. Exhausted, we decided to nap for a few hours to get some energy before dinner.
We headed towards the Arc de Triomphe, and found a very nice restaurant. The garcon was very kind, and the food was magnifique! Sarah ordered Saumon Grille and I ordered Croque-Poulet, and topped it off with two glasses of wine. The wine was only 10 euro cent more than water…so why not?
Wrapped up the night by stopped at a market, picking up some necessities, and headed back. French television is hilariously awesome, and we managed to find a really good British talk show.
Busy day tomorrow: Les Champs-Elysees, Musee l’Orangerie, Grand Palais, and if we have time, we will visit the Eiffel Tower.
It should be a lovely day.
That is all for now-

Also listen to the song posted - It is about Les Champs-Elysees. It will get you in the French mood.
Au revoir,
